Lead Developer- Store Systems

Job Summary

The SQL Server Developer is the key development resource and thought leader for development and integration of applications deployed to the organization. The developer has a deep understanding of current technologies deployed and understand how they support business objectives.

  • Analyze systems software problems, then architect and develop technical solutions
  • Design (based on business requirements), develop, validate and deploy new business capabilities/solutions
  • Translate business designs into technical solutions
  • Maintain system documentation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support development of a software solution by:
    • Developing across platforms/different development environments
    • Creating designs and specifications for others to follow
    • Advise more junior team members on development techniques and software lifecycle processes.
    • Configuring software applications based on business requirements
  • Support systems design by developing complex integrated systems design from business requirements and developing complex detailed system specifications from business requirements
  • Support solution deployment and validation by:
    • Leading system validation and testing
    • Supporting solution integration and user acceptance testing
    • Providing post implementation support to business
    • Developing complex system testing criteria
  • Deploying based on current SOX and deployment standards
  • Drive standards by recommending functional development standards, software selection standards and integration standards
  • Drive and adopt new technologies. Provide leadership to move current projects adoption of new technologies.
  • Support solution by:
    • Understanding business processes and current strategies
    • Staying current on related system solutions and technologies
    • Leading resolution of cross functional and complex application related issues
  • Validating that the current system documentation is accurate and complete
  • All other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for technical leadership of multiple projects
  • Responsible for providing technical leadership to a team of employees

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred
  • 6+ years progressive IT experience required
  • 3+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
  • Technology/Package implementation experience in multiple functional areas
  • Proficient in more than one development platform/language
  • Creation of complex detailed technical specifications
  • Creation of complex systems designs
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
