Senior Strategist-Content

Job Summary

Responsible for developing and executing a content strategy aligned with the overall brand positioning, business objectives and the customer's needs. The Sr Strategist - Content will connect the dots to craft a story throughout the various consumer touchpoints across the web and digital channels and to educate consumers and drive them through the purchase funnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce and promote content that aligns with identified brand audiences across all digital formats- web content, blogs, landing pages, microsites across GNC.com as well as Amazon and other marketplaces as necessary, Social Media, PR, and Digital Advertising.
  • Create and maintain editorial calendar, style guides, metadata framework and content migration plans that supports the content strategy as well as promotional needs
  • Conduct content audits and gap analyses to identify areas for opportunity that can be translated across Web, Social, and other digital formats.
  • Perform SEO research and implementation.
  • Architect the complete user journey throughout content platforms, promotional channels, and web transactions.
  • Oversees blog development and editorial calendar for blog and various other media outlets to promote content.
  • Develop and execute Influencer program to expand reach and tap into incremental audiences.
  • Work across Social, E-Catalog, Marketing and Advertising teams to deploy and promote content.
  • Oversee content requirements and create content strategy deliverables across the project life cycle.
  • Work with creative teams consisting of copywriters and designers to bring the content to life.
  • Partner with merchant, legal, science and other internal and external teams to develop and deploy content for key products, brands and categories while ensuring all regulatory standards and requirements are met.
  • Ensure content is universally original, authentic, informative, on brand, and SEO friendly.
  • Continually test and optimize content experiences throughout channels and audience segments.
  • Partner with other e-Commerce team members and merchants to ensure new product launches are set up to succeed.
  • Assist with the technical integration of content as it relates to deploying and publishing across web platforms.
  • Curate and maintain content for optimizations, updates, accuracy and performance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supervising multiple projects.
  • Responsible for supervising a team of employees

Job Specifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 6+ years related experience
  • Experience in wellness, nutrition industry a plus
  • Sound working knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Ability to lead a team in support of an overall strategy
  • High degree of proficiency across content management systems & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
