Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Job Summary


Under limited supervision, responsible for evaluation and support of registration requirements for global product registration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Evaluate product formulations and product labels from a regulatory perspective to determine compliance with regulatory agencies in target markets
  • Work closely with franchisees to obtain preliminary and final approval of formulations prior to initiating manufacture
  • Keep abreast of changes/ proposed changes to worldwide regulatory requirements related to products and processes
  • Advise management and appropriate departments of franchisee registrations problems
  • Work with manufacturers and the franchisee to facilitate technical conversations to ensure timely product registration
  • Create and Manage monthly registration reports with global franchisees to ensure reports are transmitted to GNC (i.e. registrations, re-registrations & regulations)
  • Procure, prepare documents and build and foster strong working relationships with departments within and outside GNC including the USDA, DOA, etc, to collect relevant information to assemble materials needed for global product registrations
    • Review documentation and advise if changes are necessary
    • Communicate with franchisees to address any issues pertaining to product registration
  • Research, action or otherwise support the franchisee's requests for specialized materials (i.e. certificates etc.) which originate outside of GNC
    • Interact with various companies, departments and associates to obtain information and materials needed by franchisees
  • Update and maintain ORAD database to include necessary materials for product registration
  • Train new clients on the use of ORAD
  • All other duties as assigned

Job Specifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Regulatory Affairs or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • 2+ years of related experience (international regulatory affairs experience preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
