International Merchandising Manager

Job Summary

The International Merchandising Manager is responsible for the health, development, and optimization of a subset of brands, products, and categories (EX: Sports & Performance, Weight Management, Wellness) of private label and 3rd Party brands and products in GNC international markets. The manager is responsible for executing actions that support the strategic merchandising plans of the category.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategize to increase wholesale revenue of private label and 3rd party products
  • Optimize international assortments (regional and market by market)
  • Identify whitespace opportunities within franchisee assortments
  • Develop brand and product concepts to fill whitespace in GNC international markets
  • Collaborate with International Marketing and Brand & Content personnel on brand & product launch plans and timelines
  • Communicate and coordinate with multiple GNC corporate teams –both international and domestic – to ensure international partners have access to current brand and product related information
  • Manage relationships with multiple 3rd Party Vendors and collaborate on sales and launch strategies for their products within GNC international markets
  • Manage communication with international partners regarding brand and merchandise related topics
  • Present new brand and merchandise opportunities to international partners
  • Manage processes that streamline operational efficiencies related to brand and category commitments
  • Manage special projects that support success of International Brand and Category goals and commitments
  • Additional duties as assigned

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Accounting, Communications, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred
  • 6+ years' experience in Retail, Nutrition, Brand Management, Merchandising, or Marketing required
  • 3+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
  • Prior managerial/supervisory experience preferred
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
