Global Brand Manager

Job Summary

General Nutrition Centers, Inc. is moving from a focus on retail stores to becoming a Brand led organization based on CPG best practices. GNC is led by some of the finest brands in the marketplace such as Beyond Raw, GNC AMP, Slimvance, GNC Women's and GNC Probiotics and business in over 50 countries. Already known for outstanding science-based products, we are evolving and implementing significant changes by establishing a traditional Brand organizational structure to better manage our streams of break-through innovation. This brand organization will help ensure that our owned brands are set up for success in the channels our target consumers shop; including stores, e-commerce and alternative sales channels worldwide. The Manager, Brand is responsible for working with Brand Leadership to set the direction, strategy and priorities at the brand level across multiple brands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing, executing and delivering the plans and tactics to ensure the brand is positioned to grow topline and bottom line with the target consumer
  • Responsible for one consumer segment of the total category
  • Develops the brand and innovation strategy
  • Responsible for brand priorities
  • Responsible to maximize brand appeal for consumer segment and to target consumers' needs and wants
  • Develops, executes and works cross functionally on brand packaging, style guides and priorities of communication for category
  • Partners with Brand Leaders and cross functional partners to execution on innovation plans
  • Manages campaigns to ensure brand consistency across all channels
  • Analyzes research to understand competitive environment and identify opportunities to amplify brand message to showcase GNC in ways that are distinctive, relevant and essential to target audiences
  • Responsible for company and specific category brand sales
  • Additional duties as assigned

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred
  • 8+ years progressive brand leadership experience required
  • 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
  • Strong understanding of all the consumers across the category
  • Strong understanding of marketing and advertising required
  • Experience identifying trends, innovative ideas, and actionable insights relevant for the brand
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
