China Joint Venture Project Manager, Finance and Administration

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the ongoing operations of the GNC China Joint Venture. The position involves leading the coordinating and communicating with multiple functional areas and applying best practices of project management. Candidate will be expected to support the relationship between the International team and GNC corporate support. Candidate is responsible for supporting the JV business plan and long term goals to include the reporting and analysis of the JV performance. This individual will need to develop strong relationships in order to influence GNC corporate teams to ensure that the JV receives the appropriate level of support to reach its goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain an open and active line of communication with the JV team.
  • Coordinate JV support for effective implementation of the plan. To include:
  • Supply Chain Logistics
  • Product related needs
  • Marketing and Merchandising support
  • All other required back office support
  • Analyze JV financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models for decision support.
  • Assist with annual and quarterly forecasting as well as annual budgeting
  • Analyze financial information and produce respective reports, including but not limited to sales and margin analysis by channel by product
  • Coordinate with Legal and Finance teams to ensure that the JV is operating within brand standards and other related requirements (e.g. FCPA)
  • Develop GNC corporate support structure and implement appropriate processes leading to the JVs success

Leadership Responsibilties:

  • Coordinate with functional teams in support of China needs and work collaboratively to exceed the needs / expectations of the joint venture. Lead reporting and analysis of all JV related financial activity.

Job Specifications


  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree. MBA with a focus on International business strongly recommended
  • Requires 2+ years' experience in project management and/or business development and/or in financial analysis.
  • Chinese language skills required (HSK 5 / OPI Advanced High or above)
  • Strong financial acumen and modeling capabilities
  • Project management experience
  • Proven leadership skills to guide and motivate peers to common goals
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and in a timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a cross functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively across time zones and cultures
