Job Description

#TeamGNC is looking for a creative individual to join our social team as Social Media Engagement Specialist! This role reports to the Manager, Social Content & Engagement and will work closely with Social Media Content Specialist (for trend-based/relevant content creation and engagement). At the heart of this role is a true passion for social media trends, copywriting, and creativity. In this role, you will be responsible for creating thumb-stopping interactions across key social media channels, primarily TikTok and Instagram. Think commenting on TikTok videos, responding to @mentions, and finding relevant and humorous ways to engage with customers and capitalize on content trends.

  • Actively participate in GNC’s online community via reactive and proactive outreach to drive positive brand connection in a relevant way. Key platform focuses are TikTok and Instagram, but also include community management of other GNC social properties, such as, Facebook.
    • Engage with @mentions, fans (existing or new), GNC influencers, relevant trends and content to drive positive brand sentiment and authenticity of GNC
    • Proactively identify real-time engagement and surprise & delight opportunities via community management and social listening on a day-to-day basis
    • Coordinate products sends for surprise/delight opportunities and work closely with Influencer Specialist to identify influencer-based surprise/delight moments
    • Monitor and engage with third-party brands, third-party influencers/athletes and third-party brand fans when appropriate
  • Support social media copywriting for organic social content to ensure voice is on-brand and in-line with social best practices
  • Work closely with Social Media Content Specialist support ideation, creation and publishing of trend-based, relevant TikTok and Reels content on a daily basis
    • Trend and social listening monitoring and analysis to find trends, opportunities or engagement moments
  • Support Manager, Social Content & Engagement with monitoring and escalation of issues management. This includes supporting coordination with customer service teams/vendors and internal teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-discipline teams with social engagement for GNC in-store events, influencer events, PR/Media sponsorships, etc.
  • Stay abreast of the ever changing digital world and bring new opportunities to the team to test and engage with.


Competitive Candidates will demonstrate:

  • Deep passion and understanding of social media and the modern day consumer – you GET social.
  • Outstanding knowledge of social trends, cultural trends and social platforms

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, PR, or related field
  • 1-2+ years of social media or relevant experience in marketing, communications or PR.
  • Demonstrated passion for the Social Media and digital content space and have a deep understanding how consumers engage with and consume content on the various platforms.
  • Deep passion and understanding of social media and the modern day consumer – you GET social.
  • Outstanding knowledge of social trends, cultural trends and social platforms
  • Excellent social copywriting skills translating to the ability authentically and emotionally connect with customers in a relevant and authentic way.
  • Thrive in a fast-changing, collaborative environment where people are driven, enthusiastic, and not afraid to take risks.
  • Understanding of how to translate brand values to social media personality in a way that is engaging and authentic.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Extremely savvy and knowledgeable of social media trends, innovations, and technology.
  • Solid understanding of how to drive consumer engagement within online social networks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective internal and external relationships and influence change.
  • Experience with social listening and management tools is a plus.
