Job Summary:

The Web Analyst will be a part of the eCommerce Analytics Team at GNC. The team is the principal authority on web sales reporting, website visitor behavior and metrics reporting, along with all associated supporting analytics for the organization and is an integral part of the success of eCOMMERCE at GNC.

The Web Analyst will contribute to the team by performing all eCommerce reporting and by assisting with ad-hoc analytic requests. Ad-hoc requests may fall in the realms of web analytics (site visitor behavior, UX, A/B Testing, online marketing analytics, page optimization), financial model building, forecasting or deep dive work in web analytics. The ideal candidate must be able to quickly respond to requests for information and must have a strong sense of urgency. The Web Analyst must have solid mathmatical background and must be able to catch and fix their own errors in order to ensure accuracy in data reporting and in all analytical work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and distribute all ecommerce performance reports
  • Respond to requests from various internal and external stakeholders for sales and performance data
  • Ideate, perform and monitor site A/B tests, calculate financial impact of tests and effectively communicate their relevance to the overall business
  • Perform other ad hoc ecommerce analysis and reporting as directed
  • Provide new and innovative analysis, unmet reporting needs, effective revenue driving strategies, enhancements to the site experience, and all and any other improvements that will increase site conversion
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Economics, Math, Statistics or MIS; other subjects will be considered but a strong aptitude for math must be shown
  • 2 years analytical and/or ecommerce experience with a strong, hands on background in marketing, ecommerce or analysis
  • Microsoft Excel
  • 2 years SQL coding
  • PREFERRED Masters Degree in areas mentioned above
  • Experience with analysis in retail environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use web analytics tools, particularly Google 360 Suite
  • Experience coding software such as R, Python; experience working wih big data and associated techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to combine business accumen with analytical procedures
  • Understanding of site tagging and ability to use a tag manager to deploy, optimize site tags
  • Solid math background, must be able to catch own mistakes
  • Ability to use web analytic tools such as Google 360 Suite, Omniture, etc
  • Very strong web and business analysis skills
  • Must be highly organized and capable of juggling multiple projects successfully
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented, with a passion for digging itno data to identify key trends, results and critical outcomes
  • Strong ability to translate, communicate and distill statistics and metrics into a digestible, actionable marketing framework
  • Strong initiative---ideal candidate will conceive of research projects/tests and execute based on open business/analysis questions without direct instruction
