Job Summary:

The business analyst is the key connection between the business and the IT team. They have a deep understanding of the business processes and understand how technology can solve issues the business is facing or might face in the future.

  • Key liaison with the business.
  • Analyze complex business problems and assess how technology may solve them. Recommend solutions (new software, updated software, new hardware).
  • Formalize the objectives and scope of business systems (project planning and startup)
  • Consult with business on requirements to develop the project requirements (business requirements documentation).
  • Develop (with the business) user acceptance requirements for new software (user test plans)
  • Provide support to business when key issues occur (bridge business and IT solutions when major incident occurs, react to regulatory and compliance issues).

This position will support the Marketing department. The ideal candidate will have experience with large customer databases and CRM systems. This person should know basic SQL and understand how customer data flows through the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the development of business cases by developing business cases, developing initial investment cost estimates, and facilitating calculations on the initial ROI and ongoing cost of a proposed solution.

Support the completion of the Business requirements Document by:

  • Developing moderately complex requirements for solutions by working closely with the business and appropriate IT teams.
  • Using Business Requirements Documentation standards.

Supports the development process by:

  • Supporting solution design by providing insight at design sessions with IT teams to help translate requirements into workable business solutions.
  • Recommending the need for additional data and/or services to address key business issues.
  • Researching third party solutions as needed.
  • Adhering to SDLC and/or PMLC standards and governance.

Support solution deployment and support by:

  • Supporting solution integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Providing post implementation support to business.
  • Developing complex user acceptance criteria.
  • Serving as a liaison between business and development to manage requests for additional scope or process changes.
  • Testing case execution as needed.

Supports continuous business process improvement by understanding business processes and current strategies, researching business best practices, and staying current on related system solutions.

Job Specifications:

5+ years of relevant experience and 7+ years of IT experience.

1+ years in business case development.
Experience interacting with executive leadership.

CRM Systems (Customer Datamart, Analytics, Campaign Management, etc…)

Preferred Bachelor Degree in Business Admin, Computer Science, MIS or relevant field.

Preferred CCBA and/or CBAP, PMP
