The International Franchise Operations Manager (“FOM”) is a key member of the International Store Operations team, but
also supports the International Business Development function. Specifically:
Store Operations Focus:
he / she collaborates with multiple international distributors and/or franchise partners to develop and maximize
results. FOM maintains consistent customer experience, and compliance with brand standards and guidelines. The
Franchise Operations Manager will support the franchise partner in all aspects, of the market including ensuring merchandising, marketing, assortment, and store operations meet the enterprise standards. Additionally, the
Franchise Operations Manager shall work with the franchise partners to develop brand and product extension with
the existing partners through distribution, partnerships and e-commerce.
Business Development Focus:
Supports GNC’s International Business Development. Specifically, the FOM will be responsible for managing a process to evaluate and sign new international distributors. In addition, FOM will gather and analyze financial data for current and future International business opportunities. Provide financial & analytical support in structured and ad hoc manners.
The FOM is responsible for the day-to-day management of the relationship with the franchise
partners and serves as the central point of contact.
Provide operational guidance and counsel to the franchise partner, review results regarding
targets, and suggest corrective actions or areas for expansion.
Responsible for retail ($5M to $7M) and wholesale ($1.5M to $2M) revenue for the respective
region and driving additional growth and expansion opportunities.
Facilitate regular business reviews, including competitive analysis, store evaluation,
merchandising, marketing, promotional planning, train the trainer, and development of
long range plans.
Additionally, the FOM is responsible for completion and dissemination of conference call
recaps in accordance with GNC’s SOPs.
Provide support and guidance to franchise partners in respect to market development.
Additionally, the FOM is responsible for ensuring that store openings, closings, and
relocations are processed in accordance with GNC’s SOPs.
Process and documentation management in relation to the needs of the international operations
Business Development Focus:
Develop financial and competitive analysis, benchmarking, and key metrics.
Support the planning of: strategic evaluation, valuations/M&A opportunities, industry trends, and budgeting analyses.
Assist in the preparation of presentations for executive updates.
Manage process for interacting with potential new partners.
Collaborate with potential partners on building new business for GNC.
Influences several internal cross-functional partners.
Primary point of contact with multiple International Franchise Partners.
At least 3 years retail business operations and financial/analytical experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline
Ability to work effectively in a team environment. In addition, have excellent written and
verbal communication skills so that the DFO can communicate clearly and concisely with
internal and external stakeholders.
Possess self-motivation, business acumen, in depth analytical skills, strong detail
orientation, and execution skills necessary to efficiently and effectively complete projects
and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Technically competent in all aspects of store operating systems.
Ability to adapt to diverse cultures.
Experience in financial / competitive analysis and modeling.
