The associate chemist is responsible for the timely assay of routine testing for raw materials, finished products and stability samples utilizing current cGMPs, cGLPs, SOPs, and current laboratory instrumentation. The associate chemist supports method development, validations, and other special projects, as requested. The associate chemist performs other basic laboratory duties, as directed.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
May be required to lift up to 40 lbs
There may be long periods of standing while prepping samples/reagents/standards
There may also be long periods of time spent sitting when analyzing data and completing paperwork
Personal Protective Equipment:
Lab coat, safety glasses, gloves. At times there may be a need to wear a full length apron when working with concentrated acids and bases
The work is done in a laboratory environment, hazardous chemicals are present and must have the knowledge and ability to work safely in this environment. Must wear the required PPE and know how to use available safety equipment provided, i.e hoods, safety showers, and eye washes.
